O.C. Tanner Career Icons

When O.C. Tanner employees hit big career milestones, the organization celebrates their part in its story. Individual career achievements are made even more meaningful when they connect people to the company's legacy and distinct history.

To accomplish this objective, we created a collection of miniature icons that employees could wear as pins or display—one for every major career milestone, each representing an important company story, characteristic, or shared value. I was a part of the core team that concepted the collection, selecting the most potent stories and iconic visuals. I interviewed dozens of current and former O.C. Tanner employees, helped direct the design of the icons, and ultimately wrote twelves stories that both tell the 95-year history of this Salt Lake City institution and speak to moments in employees lives and careers.
